Andy -

Thank you for posting information about the FCC proceeding on
universal service.

Cyber-Rights participants may be interested in knowing that the CPSR
Board of Directors has okayed our signing onto comments in support of
an extension of the FCC's April 8 deadline for filing comments on
universal service issues.

In addition, a draft policy paper on universal service issues that
was prepared by Karen Coyle, chair of CPSR's Berkeley chapter, is
currently under review and may become the basis for CPSR comments on
this issue. I would encourage people intersted in this issue to
contact Karen for a copy of her paper. Her email address is:

There is also a coalition forming in Washington of organizations
concerned about extending the deadline and/or filing comments.
Please contact me at the National Office if you have an interest in
participating in this effort.

Audrie
