CDT announces that a new bill was introduced into U.S. Congress to
repeal the old defense-related restrictions on encryption exports.
I'll forward the newsletter to anyone who's interested.

I was sent the final schedule for the Infowar conference, which takes
place in Brussels on May 23-24, 1996 and concentrates on:

        Personal Privacy
Industrial and Economic Spying and Warfare
Global Conflict, Terrorism and the Military

Email me if you want the announcement.

Also, for people concerned about privacy of medical records, the state
of Minnesota is considering a bill that looks pretty strong to my
crude eye. I can send a copy of the bill if you're interested.

Another interesting development in Minnesota: a mailing list called
MN-III that distributes announcements and articles about telecom.

Andy
