Taxpayer Assets Project has released a newsletter about Direct Broadcast Satellite, which is "a technology used to provide television via small satellite dishes, such is offered by DirecTV, and it may be used for other multimedia or data services in the future." They are protesting the attempt of one company to increase their share of the spectrum to more than one-third. TAP also filed comments with the FCC about letting consumers have more choice about who they buy cable equipment from. This could promote competition in the installation of cable in schools, etc., and its use for Internet transmissions. Email me if you want either newsletter.
